If you haven’t been following on Ravelry, the Indie Designer Giftalong is now in full swing. If you’re wondering what it is, it works like this:
- 338 Independent designers offer a selection of their self published patterns at a 25% discount with the code ‘giftalong2015’
- Knitters and crocheters (and fellow designers) make hay on the pattern buying front with the discount code – it can be used as many times as you like – but it expires on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11:59 pm US EST or Saturday, 28 November 2015, 04:59am UK time so don’t miss the boat.
- Lots of knitting takes place, as does lots of chatting in threads in the Indie Designer Giftalong Group, where there are also competitions and flash prizes for contributions.
- Finished Objects knitted from patterns designed by participating designers are photographed and posted up up in the FO threads by midnight 31st December 2015 (US EST) and are eligible for randomly drawn prizes.
I’ve participated in the giftalong in the last 2 years and signed up again this year. I’m offering the 25% discount on 12 patterns including the brand new Badbury Shawl which I have yet to blog about.

I’m also participating as a knitter again this year. After all it’s a Giftalong and I always have lots of gift knitting to do at this time of year. I’m starting with the five youngest nieces and nephews, and unless the miraculous happens and I get done early, nobody else will get a look in until the holidays themselves, myself included.

Thats what happens when you start with the youngest and despite knitting with a bit of growing room you still only have to do the year old size – oh and there just happened to be a double bill of The Bridge on TV on Saturday. With just 6 rounds left to do I’ll be back soon to share my first pick and the perfect Bridge knitting project.
