Hats, Mitts & Cowls

Tyto Alba

Tyto Alba is worked from the bottom up in the round and features a striking central cabled panel complemented by a slipped stitch pattern to create a warm, bouncy fabric for those chilly days. The difference in the row gauge of the two patterns is used to positive effect, creating a dramatically shaped front section which sits perfectly where your coat closes; at the back there is less bulk, so the cowl sits comfortably against the back collar. Short rows are worked at the top of the cowl back to keep out those chilly winds! Both written and charted instructions are provided.

Anglebury

The Anglebury Cowl is a sculptural textured cowl that is knit in the round using a single 100g skein of DK yarn.
It comes in one size and the pattern design enables it to sit on the shoulders and then narrow to the neck. The scallop along the bottom hem is mirrored along the top and transitions smoothly into the cable main section.

Bryanston Beret
Sherbourne Hat
Sherborne Cowl

The Bryanston Beret pattern is two patterns in one – The original 2 colour version and a new ‘inside out’ striped version (pictured)
This second version is literally knitted inside out so the lovely texture pattern emerges on the ‘wrong side’ from the ribbing upwards.and you just flip the hat the right way once you’re finished.
The stitch pattern creates a bouncy fabric which allows you to block it as a slouchy beanie or a beret/tam shape depending on which you prefer.
The pattern comes in 3 sizes and can be purchased as a digital download priced at £3.75 via:

Both hat and cowl use picot edged pleats to create warm and structure without being bulky.
The hat comes in 2 size. Both are knitted in DK yarn.

The cowl comes in 1 size and is shaped to be wider at the shoulders narrowing at the neck.
