Join the Fasten Off Yarn Along 2023 for Pattern Discounts, Community, and Social Media Games

Today I want to introduce you to the Fasten Off Yarn Along (FOYAL), a seasonal stitch-along involving some of your favourite Indie designers. The FOYAL comes with a generous 25% discount on all participating patterns, a lively discord group and active social media feeds where there will be games, activities, and opportunities to win prizes and interact with participating designers.

The FOYAL runs from Friday 24th November 9pm (CET) through to the end of the year, December 31st 2023. This is an off Ravelry event, so it is open to everyone who wants to get involved.

Please note, the discount period for the Fasten Off Along discount period is valid for just the first 2 weeks of the event and ends at midnight (CET) Friday December 8th  so don’t miss out.*

During this period you can buy any (or all!) of my patterns available on Payhip at a 25% discount with the code FOYAL2023.

So what will be discounted?

Cowls: who can resist a cowl?
Patterns feature texture, cables, slipped stitch colour work and tucks, and include infinity or single loop options.

Left Top to bottom: Anglebury, Tyto Alba, Sherborne. Right top to bottom: Valdes and Dorotea

Shawls: As you can see, I like designing shawls, mainly because I enjoy both knitting and wearing them.
My shawls range from lace weight through DK weight yarns lace and texture stitches, stripes, knit as you go border, top down, bottom up and sideways tip to tip.

Top right: Wraparounf, Lewth, Badbury & FUBCNo.2 Botton left: Anthriscus, Kingston Lacy, Common’s Drape, Heywood Hill Bottom right: Hawserlaid, Derwentwater, Mainline, Clemmie

Hats always make great gifts and again you can see how I like working with texture and colour and a range of yarn weight from 2 ply through to worsted weight. Whether you need something really warm, want something with a vintage vibe, a little sophistication, want a failsafe charity knit or hats sized through from newborns to adult, you’ll find it all here.

Left: Askew, Sherborne, Houndstooth headband. Right: Alconleigh, Mimizan, Bryanston, Sarum

Seasonal Cosies: These patterns have all been designed as seasonal fundraisers. The Christmas pudding and trees are both Ferrero Rocher cosies that also fit perfectly Lindt Lindor truffles. While the cupcake and owl are designed to be ‘stuffed’ with a creme egg or similar.
I must have knitted over a 1000 puddings and in the 100s of trees. For quite a few years these were the sustaining fundraiser for a knitting group I ran for vulnerable women, enabling us to take members to yarn shows and events each year. They’re perfect place settings or little fun gifts for friends, co-workers, teacher, or for your own fundraiser.

Last but not least we have my ever popular Ringwood socks, which can be knit cuff down or toe up; the Ferla bag with full instructions for gentle felting/fulling; the lovey curled toe Elf stocking Christmas garland, perfect for advent, tree decorations, or cutlery holders; and the Something to Declare luggage tags which can also be used on your Christmas gifts.

I hope you find something you like amongst all these.

You can participate in FOYAL activities by working on any of my patterns, including my free patterns available exclusively here on the blog and patterns you may already have bought. You do not need to buy new patterns to participate.

The social media hashtag is #FastenOffYAL, and pattern prizes are already being won.

I hope you’ll find time for yourself over the festive period, perhaps for knitting, crochet, tunisian crochet or whatever you find restorative.

All the very best and happy knitting,

Tess xxx

*In the New Year I will be increasing the price of all my patterns so the FOYAL discount on top of the pre-price rise coast, really is a great deal.
I’ve held my patterns at current prices for at least the last 2 years, some for even longer. As with everything else with productions costs increasing, pattern prices need to do so as well. I’ve held my prices below the norm for as long as I can, but this is simply no longer sustainable. I hope you will understand this decision.
