Houndstooth Headband
€6

The double layers of this two colour slipped stitch houndstooth headband makes it the perfect stylish accessory for cold weather. The combination vintage aesthetic with on trend, old fashioned practicality, makes it the headband you’ll return to year after year.

Combine a gradient, variegated yarn or even a parade of leftovers with a workhorse solid to striking effect.

The incredibly simple, one colour at a time, slipped stitch pattern makes it perfect meditative or tv or queue knitting. The only trickier parts are at the very beginning where the headband starts with a provisional cast on and at the end where it is finished by using a stocking stitch graft to join the live stitches from the cast on to the final row of knit stitches. These are great skills to have and to learn. To help you do so, full, step by step, instructions for both the crochet provisional cast on and Stocking Stitch graft are provided on the ‘Techniques’ page of the pattern. However, if you don’t feel comfortable with a provisional cast on or stocking stitch grafting, you can cast on and off as usual and neatly sew the two ends of your knitting together.
