Ferla
€5

The Ferla Box Bag was inspired by the desire to recreate my favourite bag, bought in Italy many years ago and now slightly past its best, in knitted form.

Ferla is knitted in one piece from the base up using a slip stitch pattern in two colours to produce a sturdy fabric with a tweedy effect.

To create a freestanding bag the finished project is fulled/lightly felted and full instructions are provided to take you through this process if you haven’t done it before.

You can elevate your bag further by finishing it off with some statement buttons as you sew on the handles.

Sizes
7.5 x 3.5 x 9 inches/19 x 9 x 23 cm
Full instructions for resizing the bag are also provided.

Contrast Yarn: 100g – 100m/110yds
You can also knit this bag with multiple strands of finer yarn as shown in the photographed samples. You will need yarns that combine to create a single strand of at least 12-16 ply. Further information is provided in the pattern on multi stranding yarns to make up a bulky weight wool.

All yarns should be feltable as the bag is lightly fulled/felted after knitting.
Superwash wools are not suitable for this project.
