Something to Declare
€5
These luggage labels were inspired by the vintage leather address labels I used when I first started travelling overseas many years ago.
Fun accessories they can be used on handbags or nappy bags and you don’t have to stick to names and addresses but could use them to contain favourite quotes or positive affirmations. You could also use them on your knitting bag for knitting technique reminder notes.
The luggage tag is knitted from the button flap to the shaped tip. You start flat, then join in the round, then cast off some stitches and knit flat again before finally joining in the round for the shaped end. The ends are grafted together but you can cast off and sew up the end if you prefer.
The tag can be knitted plain, striped or using the colourwork charts provided. Additional blank charts are also provided for you to design your own colourwork patterns and to personalise your tags.
This pattern was originally released during the Winter Olympics in Sochi as a declaration of support for those oppressed as a result of their sexual orientation, both in Russia as the host country but also around the world in participating and non-participating nations.
