Fun Christmas tree Ferrero Rocher cosies that make perfect place settings, fundraisers, teacher and colleague gifts.

The pattern includes instructions for two designs and instructions to work them either flat and then seamed, or in the round. The trees are knitted from the bottom up.

Tree one is knitted in smooth stocking stitch with ridges up the tree, these are shown knitted in contrast novelty yarn in the pictures.

Tree 2 is knitted in reverse stocking stitch broken up by two rows/rounds of stocking stitch – it is these two stocking st rows which are knitted in the contrast novelty yarn in the trees shown.

Either tree could be knitted entirely in novelty yarn once the base is completed. It is the base that contains the Ferrero Rocher and supports the weight of the tree so this is best knitted in regular yarn. The white tree pictured is an example of tree 2 knitted in eyelash yarn.

Yarn
20 – 30 m ( 22 – 33 yds) of yarn combining DK and novelty yarns as you prefer.

Gauge
24 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in) over stocking stitch pattern after blocking.

3.25mm (US3) needles for trunk/base
3.75mm (US5) needles for tree
Bells or beads for decoration
Tapestry needle
