This one skein shawl was designed for beginners. It is easy to remember and work, making it a quick knit for more experienced knitters.
The pattern intersperses a simple 2 stitch 4 row textured pattern repeat, with a 9 stitch 8 row lace repeat.
The shawl is named after Derwentwater in the Lake District, England and the stitch patterns represent the ripples of the water on the lake and the peaks of the surrounding hills.
