Ruskin’s View, Turner, Radical Steps, Devils’ Bridge and Knitting

We shared in the gorgeous weather this weekend and after a hard day’s labour digging on the allotment on Saturday, Sunday we went to Kirkby Lonsdale to meet friends and a visiting Historian of Science for lunch.  As it was such a lovely day we went early to walk the dogs along the river. On the Toon…

Last week we spent a few days in Newcastle upon Tyne visiting friends and, for Paolo a conference, and for me some cheese and yarn shopping. I rather like Newcastle, it so different now compared to the Newcastle I visited in the 1980s when most British cities were pretty grim. We’ve been away visiting family for the last 10 days, a wonderful week in Dorset bookended by my nephew’s wedding the first weekend and my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary the second.
